FOOTBALL ACADEMY

The Bendigo Bank Junior Football League (BJFL) has had a development program in conjunction with Inter-league Games for a long time.

In 2015 AFL Central Victoria, along with the Football Development Managers (FDMs) of AFL Victoria, created the AFLCV Academy Program for both Football and Netball.  

​

The AFL Central Victoria Football Academy is a 10-12 week development program for players and coaches, which runs from March through to June each year. 

Mid week trainings is the main focus of the program with the opportunity for inter-league and region matches. 

 

Each affiliated club, within the region, is able to nominate players into the Academy. 

 

From the nominations, trials will take place where a squad of players will be selected into each age group.

The AFLCV Academy takes place at the Epsom / Huntly Recreation Reserve and operates from 4.45-6.15pm on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

​

Selected players receive apparel (playing jumper, warm up top, hoodie, shorts and socks), development sessions and opportunity to compete in the inter-league games.
